We are committed to providing accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant reporting to help create a safe learning and working environment for students and staff.
Asbestos Re-Inspections, Surveillance, Management & Training
Under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), all public and private K-12 schools must:
Conduct three-year re-inspections to assess current ACM (asbestos-containing materials) conditions.
Perform six-month periodic surveillance to monitor ACMs and identify any changes in condition or potential exposure risk.
Maintain and update the Asbestos Management Plan (AMP).
Provide asbestos awareness training for custodial and maintenance staff.
PNWIG supports every aspect of this compliance process:
Our certified asbestos inspectors perform detailed on-site re-inspections of ACMs throughout your facilities, evaluating conditions and providing actionable recommendations. Each re-inspection includes a comprehensive report with photographic documentation and required forms per AHERA.
We perform biannual surveillance to document and monitor ACM conditions between re-inspections. Our surveillance records are formatted to meet AHERA documentation standards and integrate seamlessly into your school’s AMP.
Our team assists in updating your school’s Asbestos Management Plan, ensuring it accurately reflects inspection findings, surveillance data, response actions, and ongoing maintenance records.
We offer AHERA-compliant asbestos awareness training for custodial, maintenance, and administrative staff, helping them understand how to identify and manage ACMs safely in accordance with EPA guidelines.
Our team continuously monitors changes to federal and state asbestos regulations, providing expert guidance and proactive compliance strategies to help your school stay audit-ready.
